Stainless Steel 410 forged fittings are produced from a martensitic stainless steel with a composition of around 11.5–13.5% chromium and an upper limit of 0.15% carbon content. This alloy offers medium corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. These fittings are heat-treatable, providing tensile strengths of up to 700 MPa and satisfactory wear resistance. Although their corrosion resistance is less than austenitic grades, they are satisfactory in mildly corrosive environments. 410 Stainless Steel is magnetic and has strength, as well as hardness, up to moderately high temperatures, and it is appropriate for use where there is mechanical stress and abrasion.
