UNS S32760 forged Super Duplex Steel fittings are manufactured from a superior alloy with about 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3.6% molybdenum, and additions of tungsten, nitrogen, and copper. This material provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. The material has high mechanical strength with a common yield strength of 550 MPa and tensile strength in excess of 750 MPa, along with very good impact toughness at low temperatures. The duplex structure—having both austenitic and ferritic phases—provides excellent resistance to fatigue and structural stability, so these fittings can be employed in harsh operating conditions.
